Amazing Juicer Five fruit and veg a day can you get this by juicing?
I've just bought a juicer and think it's amazing. I have a smoothie maker but sometimes find drinking that the liquid is a bit 'thick'. I know that I am not getting the fibre when I juice stuff but can I use the juicer to get the recommended 5 fruit and veg which is recommended?
Thanks for your answer some_guy. You are right, what a lot of judgemental answers when I only wanted advice. I am juicing lots of different fruits and veggies and I do get fibre from bran flakes and other things. I'm not worried about dieting or putting on weight just wanted some information so thank you very much.
Wow some judgemental answers here over a juicer. Yes, you can get your veggies through a juicer. One of V8s claims is that it counts as servings of Veggies.
Also a "serving" of fruit or veg is pretty small. A 6oz glass of OJ counts as a serving of fruit.
Papaya is really good in smooties, but some people think it tastes like soap. It's the same deal as with Cilantro. I like the BIG papayas which have tons more flavor than the Hawaiian little papayas. It freezes great and then you don't need as much ice for the smoothie. They are loaded with great enzymes and vitamins.

Is Juicing Your Own Juice Really Worth The Effort And Money?
Years Ago I bought a Jack Lalanne juicer and I thought it was amazing. Every day I would come home from work and do some juicing and have a drink. But as time went on it became time consuming especially when I was knackered from work. So bought little bottles and did a lot of juicing and filled the bottles up and drank 1 for each day. But even this was still time consuming and cost money cos all that different fruits and veg are not cheap
Last week I was in a shop beside me and they have bottles and cartons of juice that are a good brand and it works out at 16p for each drink and with that your getting your daily 1 fruit portion.
They had had an orange and mango drink at 20p a bottle and again with that was your daily 1 fruit portion
so really is it worth doing the juicing at home especially when its cheaper to buy in the shops and also you don't have to make it or doing the cleaning up cos those juicers get filthy
I've been down that road too... and after weighing up the pros/cons, like yourself, I simply started to buy pre-packaged stuff. It saves time and money, and you don't have to clean your juicer!
One thing to be careful of would be the ingredients in certain fruit juices. Some may contain high amounts of added sugar which wont be beneficial to you.
It's better to eat the fruits you would normally juice as whole food, as once juiced the nutritional values of some of the chemical compounds can be lost.
