Centrifugal Juicer Nutrients
s there a big difference of nutrient extraction from centrifugal juicers and pulp extractors?
I've read that the centrifugal juicers destroy some of the enzymes and nutrients and wonder how much is destroyed and is it significant enough to warrant the extra expense in purchasing a pulp extractor instead.
I have an Omega, and I really like it. It is very hard to clean however.
In my opinion, if you really want the best, get a VitaMix. They just blend super well, without removing any good stuff.
Enzymes are removed from heat, not extraction.
By the way, try this recipe:
One whole organic romaine
2 Honeycrisp apples, organic
1 organic lemon
one inch of ginger
one leaf of kale
You will love it!

Which is Better Juicing or Blending #506
How much of the enzyme and nutrients do the centrifugal juicers destroy. 100%, 75%? What is time relationship?
I have failed to see anywhere in disscusions about juicer types any kind of percentage breakdown in relationship to drinking time of the juice once it's prepared. Heat destroys the enzymes, but is that on contact or is there some enzyme and nutrient retention, and if so how much?
There would be little difference between the different types of juicers. Heat and time are a different matter because both will degrade the nutritional value.
