Easiest Juicer

Whats a good juicer to get?
I want to buy a juicer that isnt too expensive and is easy to clean. Do you have any suggestions in brands, makes or models? Where to get them etc...??
I have a Juiceman Jr. that works well. It is a bit small and light for my usage, but if you don't abuse it, it should suffice. Price $50-60

New Juicer Walk Thru
Have new juicer, now what?
I have a new juicer that I would like to start using. It should be good for juicing everything except things with pits like cherries but I don't know what fruits and veggies will be easy to start with but healthy. Any suggestions?
Juicing is a fantastic way to consume all the fruit/veggies you need per day and then some! ![]()
Here are some of my fave recipes:
~ 1/4 of a whole pineapple*, apple, cucumber, 1/4" fresh ginger root
~4 carrots, apple, parsley, 2 cloves of garlic
~4 carrots, pineapple, 1/4" fresh ginger
~1 ruby red grapefruit**, 1 orange
~apple, 1/2 lemon, 3 carrots
~2 handfuls of strawberries, 1 kiwi, apple
~1/2 of a cantaloupe*, 1/4" ginger root
~grapes, 4 carrots, garlic cloves
*Many fruit and vegetables carry a large amount of their nutrients in the skin or rind. With pineapple, cantalopue, and watermelon, it's perfectly safe to leave the rind on. (after a thorough cleaning, of course!). For veggies, it's fine to keep the skin on cucumbers, carrots (don't peel them), tomatoes, etc.
**Citrus fruit is the exception to the skin-on rule! Not only does it taste horrible, but trying to juice these fruits with the rind on can ruin your juicer blades and motor. As you peel, just make sure to leave on as much of the pith as possible. That too carries a lot of good vitamins and minerals.
Notes and tips:
~You cannot juice a banana. If you would like to add a banana, juice what can go in the juicer....collect that juice and pour it into a blender. Add the banana and combine them that way.
~Many people believe that you cannot or should not "mix" fruit juices with vegetable juices. That is not true. Feel free to mix whatever you'd like.
~Many dietitians and nutritionists recommend that you dilute the juice with water. The juice is VERY concentrated and for some it can be rough on the stomach (especially if you've added a lot of garlic or ginger). Personally, I think it tastes horrible diluted, so I follow the juice with a big glass of water.
~You can save the pulp from your juicing for a compost...or if you are making vegetable soup, the carrot/tomato/garlic/celery and herb pulp makes a good base for it. Apple pulp is great for sweetning desserts. Various fruit pulp can be stuck in the freezer for a nice sorbet. (just add a little of the juice to it first). Vegetable pulp is good in a meatloaf (or mock meatloaf) - it gives the dish some mositure, fibre and helps it hold together. Fruit pulp can add a special kick to any muffins you're making.
I hope that helps....good luck and happy juicing!

Best advice anyone who has one will give you is to buy one that is very very easy to clean. most of the juicers bought end up back in a cabinet or garage. The jui8ce is great, but the clean up can put you off completely.
