That's right your food may be killing you and may be adding to your weight problems, whether we eat out or eat at home.
Sure it's convenient to buy prepackaged foods, but how convenient is it later on when we spend thousands of dollars at the Dr.'s office and on medications.
Those convenient foods are high is sodium, contain aspartame (which alone can cause many health issues), dyes additives and preservatives.
So what can happen after years of consuming these things? Well...Diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer (of many sorts), depression, weight gain and lack of energy just to name a few things.
What happens next?
We spend time at the doctor's office and visiting the local pharmacies for one or several different types of medications. And for some people it's like that for the rest of their lives. If that wasn't bad enough, many people have to make a decision weekly or monthly, if they will have food or if they will have their medications.
So how can we avoid this fate?
By eating right!!!
Our bodies need the right foods to function properly and to maintain a healthy weight, just as your vehicle needs the right gas and oil in order to function properly.
Our bodies need nuts, seeds, fresh fruit and vegetables (I said fresh not canned), fish (salmon is best), and whole grains for starters. Not only will our bodies function better but by doing so, it could lower your cholesterol, blood pressure, improve diabetes and losing weight, just to name a few things.
Many say..."Well I can't afford to eat that stuff". My question is...How can you afford NOT to? Do you really think you are saving money on pre-packaged food and then spend time and 100's of dollars on Dr. visits and medications? Let's think long term. We are after all talking about your health.
Well all that is fine and dandy, but what about things to drink?
The most important thing we need to make sure we drink plenty of is Water. Water helps flush our systems and keeps things working properly and helps keeps us hydrated. Not to mention, many people get confused about being hungry or being thirsty. Many times your body is dehydrated but instead of drinking water, you eat instead.
Keeping your body hydrated and flushing out the toxins and excess fluids can also help with weight loss. Along with that there are green tea and fresh fruit juices (fresh not bottled).
How do you get fresh fruit juice?
Here is something that we do. We buy fresh fruit and make our own juice at home with the help of a juicer. Then we use what is left in the bin and use it for cooking with or for a treat we use a little fruit dip to mix with it. So we get more use out of our fruit and veggies. Not to mention our bodies are getting the right nutrients that it needs minus the ugly stuff our bodies can do without.
