I've lived in Huntington Beach for over 2 decades and I can personally attest to the rampant corruption running through the Huntington Beach Police Department. I've seen so many incidents of HBPD abuse of authority I could write a book on it. Under no circumstances do we ever call this department out for help. They just simply don't want to get involved and always make things worse just by showing up. Problems start at the top with weak leadership and extend into the ranks with poor morale. We don't fear the criminals in the downtown, just the police department.

I’m aware of that, but a man who was raised in a time when cops were reasonable probably doesn’t… the ol’ guy probably didn’t even realize he was doing it… non verbal communication. Did the officer say anything after the first touch? That would be an interesting one. I lived in Huntington Beach for 10 years… I operate on the assumption I that I am one disrespectful eye contact away from a beat-down.

For many years I lived in close proximity to the Pacific coast, Huntington Beach, Ventura, and now 8 miles from the coast. I've also been blessed to live in Washington State for 18 years surrounded by mountains. In my younger, skinnier, vainer years I preferred the beach. In my older years I apperciate the mountains more. Glad you were able to “get away”

We can spin this around into something positive. We can blame the Imperial Stars for everything now. ex “I'm sorry I can't come to work, the Imperial Stars are blocking my driveway….”
