Juice Master Juicers

raw food fasting? master cleanse?? need any ideas?
i am raw vegan and want to do the master cleanse (maple syrup lemon juice cayenne) but maple syrup is not raw right? so any other ideas? i have a juicer so any ideas that are raw i can fast with? thanks so much
Master cleanse is really bad for your blood sugar levels. If you eat all raw and no meat you probably dont need a cleanse anyway. It would not benefit you as much as it would benefit say someone that eats red meat, white bread, fats, and drinks alcohol. People with a decent fiber and water intake do not have the famous '15 pounds' of waste everyone tells you about. Just my opinion though!
You could do a healthy juice fast for a couple days and cut out caffeine and sugar etc, that would probably do the trick. There are plenty of juice recipes online that are great for this just google it. Good luck!

Questions for the low Carbs eaters and Juicers?
Questions for the low Carbs eaters and Juicers?
is it safe for me to do a low carb diet through the winter months and by spring do the Master Cleanse for two weeks and back to the low carbs. (truly after the Master Cleanse I would like to start juicing for the summer season. If not, Is there any thing like a low carb juicing diet or maybe juicing my veggies and eating my protien (fish)? I hope this does not sound stupid.
I've done the low carb thing, juicing, and total vegan thing. They're all unbalanced ways to eat and live.
Juicing isn't really all that good for you, because most juicers remove the fiber from the juice, and fiber helps keep you regular, helps keep your blood sugar on an even keel, and also helps prevent colon cancer and high cholesterol.
Juice is drunk, whereas fruit and veggies that are whole have to be chewed. Chewing food helps your mouth produce saliva with enzymes that start to predigest the food before you even swallow it.
Also, the taste buds in your mouth help trigger the release of the appropriate enzymes in your stomach for thorough digestion of the type of food you ate. Different types of foods need different enzymes. Chewing helps your body release the right kind. When you drink juice you are bypassing the natural digestive process and will not get as much benefit from what you eat, as someone who eats whole foods and chews their food well before swallowing.
The manufacturers of juicing machines and commercially prepared juices want you to buy their products, so they can make money, but in fact, eating fresh fruits and veggies in their whole form is actually better for you. Your colon will in fact be healthier if you eat whole foods instead of juicing, no matter how fresh the juice may be. You will also be more satisfied, and less likely to binge when you eat whole foods. Also, its healthier to prepare a good meal and take the time to enjoy it, than to stand there and push food into a machine and then guzzle it down while you rush on to your next item on your "To Do List".
Juices are high in carbs too, with non of the fiber to balance them out, which is bad for your blood sugar (raises it too much). Even if you buy an expensive machine that includes the fiber, the carbs in the juice are still going to get into your bloodstream in the form of sugar much more quickly than they normally would if you ate whole foods. Your blood sugar will tend to rise quickly and fall quickly, which is not healthy.
Cleansing diets are a scam. If you eat a healthy balanced diet with lean meats and fish, whole grains, and fresh fruits and veggies, and enough water, you don't need to worry about cleansing or juicing. Add in some fresh air and exercise, and you pretty much are doing what you need to do to be healthy.
A good multivitamin and mineral supplement wouldn't hurt, in case you live in an area where the local diet is low in some minerals or vitamins, but with all the variety we have available now, and the vitamins that are added to many foods, its probably not really necessary.
An occasional glass of fresh juice won't hurt you if you stick with veggies, but its not better for you either.
A moderate carb diet is a healthy way to eat IF you eat a LOT of fresh veggies, and the lower carb fruits like strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and so on. Low carb diets are usually too restricted and can deprive your body of essential nutrients, and they are very hard to stay on.
Good luck!
