Juice fast recipes for ibs?

My doctor reccomended that I try a juice fast. I've been trying to get my ibs under control. I was wondering if any body knew of any recipes for juices that would help out ibs. I have a juicer, and im willing to try anything. Im going to try to fast for about 3-5 days...thanks

I'm going to disagree with your dr. because I had ibs at one time and I'm completely free of it now.

1. Drop stress level.
2. FIBER I take fiber-con (the generic kind from WM) 3 per day every day. If I don't go for one day, I take Miralax. Best stuff on the market and absolutely no adverse effects. Makes sure there's plenty of moisture in your stools...easy to expel.

Don't say, well I eat lots of fiber, because I tried that. I tripled the amount of fiber in my diet and it didn't help at all. The fiber tabs are important, as is the miralax. The way I see it, if your body has no ammunition, it can't make you very sick, right? Keep an empty digestive tract, or as close as possible.

Hope you feel better.

Will my 500mA USB ports power a 2.5" 500gb External HDD?

I'm considering buying a SAMSUNG Spinpoint M6 HM500LI 500GB external USB HDD.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152114

My hardware specs tell me my USB ports push 500mA, and the internet tells me that this seems average.

What I can't find is the answer to whether or not my 500mA is enough to power a 2.5" 500gb disk.

Apparently, it's not enough to power a 3.5" 500gb disk, so I'm guessing I'm gonna need an extra juicer-upper. No?

Hello!

There are like 3 ways of doing this.

1) Do it with one USB plug, no additional power but just a little luck. I have a 2.5" 320GB HDD by Iomega and it tested fine on my laptops even one of those mini laptops, EEE PC. Supposedly it's not optimal according to manufacturers and dealers, but on my setup it works fine.

2) Do it with those mini-USB to twin-USB cables, it makes the peripheral use the power from two USB ports. It's also recommended and should be quite enough according to manufacturers and dealers.

3) External AC adapter, as most recommended. Problem is: it's not included in the package and it is unlikely that Samsung will send it as spare part. Let's say it's the easy solution for manufacturer's hotline.

Regarding the powering of a 3.5" HDD, we take look at the big difference apart from the size: it has two connectors! One IDE or SATA bus connector, and one 4-pin or 15-pin power connector. Personally I have never seen any external harddrive that would even turn on without their own AC adapter. The 2.5" HDD's get both the data and power from one single bus connector, rendering powering and bus'ing over a single USB bus straight forward and in many cases you will be able to use them USB powered. Even 500GB.

It's all because computers can be anything from crappy to excellent when it comes to power management over their USB ports so the manufacturers will not guarantee that the external hard drive will work everywhere without a little extra juicer-upper. But they can.

I hope this helps!
