Juicing Recipe for health
Preparing for a Juice Cleanse
Cleansing your body with juices is an important step in maintaining good health. When you consume only fresh vegetable and fruit juice for a period of one to five days, your colon can take a break from the work of digesting and begin detoxifying your body. To make the transition easier on your colon, and your entire body, you need to prepare and follow a few steps.
Plan ahead.
Since a juice cleanse will typically last a few days, it is wise to plan in advance. You'll need at least a week to prepare your body and mind for this process. It is best to start cleansing on the weekend or some other time in which you might have low stress or low responsibilities. You may want to tell your friends and family about your plans so they may know what to expect.
Eliminate toxin sources.
Most everyone's daily diet includes some toxins. It is important to identify the sources of toxins in your diet and begin eliminating them during the preparation phase. Some common sources of toxins include: alcohol, caffeine, red meat, dairy, and of course fast food and junk food. By eliminating these before the juice cleanse you may benefit by experiencing less side effects during the cleanse. Also consider removing such tempting foods from your home.
Prepare mentally.
Half of the work of a juice cleanse takes place in the mind. You will have a greater chance of success if you have a positive mental outlook. Daily meditation and affirmations can help you achieve this state of mind. Remember that you are in charge of your own health and you deserve to look and feel great.
Have equipment and recipes ready.
If you've never cleansed before, you may be intimidated about how to make the juice. A juice machine is a requirement. This differs from a blender, in that a juice machine separates the juice from the fibers. Having recipes available will give you confidence in juicing and help you to decide which fruits and vegetables to buy. There are many good books and references with juice recipes.
Buy and prepare fresh foods.
Buy your fruits and vegetables a day or so in advance. Organic produce is best, but if this is unavailable, pick foods that are ripe, with the least blemishes. Wash the produce as soon as you get it home. Carrots, celery, and the harder vegetables may be cut in advance. Cut them into sized that will fit into the juicer.
Planning ahead for a juice cleanse is just as important as cleansing itself. By following the steps above you can have a greater chance of success and will be more likely to continue healthy habits.

I’ve been looking through juice recipes and see ginger is quite a popular thing to add. I’ll have to try it, although I’ll start with very little and work my way up to more.

I've been wanting to transition to a raw diet for a while, but like you said…living with meat eaters makes it rather difficult. I used to be hardcore addicted to Coke. Like…a whole 2 liter everyday..it was bad. lol I had some serious stomach problems because of this, and switched to drinking green juice instead. If you don't have a juicer already, GET ONE. I swear, juice is so much more delicious than any soda I've ever had. Almost out of room here…I'll post another comment with a recipe!
