Thread Count
How high is a "high" thread count? ... egyptian cotton.?
What would be considered a low thread count, medium thread count and a high thread count?
If I want a high thread count what would ya recommend?
Sorry. Forgot to say it was for bedsheets.
I work at linens 'N things in the bed department so I've learned alot about this stuff.
A low thread count is anywhere from 100 to about 300.
Medium thread count would be from 300-500. and high thread count is from 500- up to 1000. Honestly you dont need a 1000 thread count sheet. Anything 400 and up will be durable. I would probably stick with anything 400 to 600 if you want something durable and inexpensive. As far as Quality, Egyptian cotton or Supima cotton is your best bet.

Why are higher thread count bed sheets so good?
I have seen them listed on ebay with over 1000 count thread.
The higher the thread count, the softer they feel.
