Total Juicers

Sales tax rate problem? I"m desperate, please help!?
Here is my problem:
The sales tax rate in Illinois is 6.25%. How much is charged on a purchase of 3 juicers at $47 apiece? What is the total price?
I'm not asking you to do the problem for me, but if you could give me the answer and EXPLAIN to me how you did that, that would be very helpful. I'm so lost. I really appreciate the help.
First multiply 47 by 3 to get the total without tax. Then change 6.25% to a decimal by moving the decimal point two places left: 0.0625 and multiply that by the total price; that's the tax (round to nearest cent if necessary). Then add the tax to the total.

Will Jeff Bagwell make the Hall of Fame? or was he a juicer? He definitely played his entire 15 year career?
within the steroid era - 1991-2005, all with the Houston Astros. His career totals were: 2,150 games, 7,797 at bats, 1,517 runs, 2,314 hits, 488 doubles, 32 triples, 449 hr's, 1,529 rbi's, 1,401 walks, 1,558 strikeouts (wow), .297 ba, .408 ob% and .540 slugging %.
I say NO WAY, he was definitely a steroid user in my opinion, and palled around with former Astros Ken Caminiti who was a big time juicer. I bet that Jeff Bagwell is one of the 102 names on the 2003 list that was never released from the players who tested positive. Their is just too much of a cloud of suspicion over this guy to put him into the Hall of Fame, but if you look at his numbers, yes, he definitely should be put in, but I don't think he ever will. What do you think?

I don't believe that he will be in the Hall of Fame even though his numbers merit it. However I will say that in this era we need to reevaluate the way we look at numbers. Steroids or not this era is a hitters era much like the 1960s were the period of the pitcher. Thus, let me throw the names of guys who easily have numbers worthy of the HOF but should be given a second look based on the era. Many will respond biased based on their favorites, but look at all of them an seriously think about it.
Sammy Sosa
Mark McGwire
Gary Sheffield
Fred McGriff
Barry Bonds
Manny Ramirez
Carlos Delgado
Jim Thome
Rafael Palmeiro
All of them have outstanding numbers, but surely they don't all merit a place in the HOF. Who do you choose? If you don't consider steroids in the argument?
