Is the Eminence "Ragin Cajun" guitar speaker from the Patriot line any good?
I own a Fender Super Champ XD 15 watt tube amp and I notice alot of people are replacing the sucky stock speaker with the Ragin Cajun speaker from Eminence.
Has anyone out there tried this, and if so what were the results?
I have not tried that particular combination, but I can tell you that the Ragin Cajun speaker is a nice speaker. It's very loud and touch sensitive and has a nice top end bite. It will be a nice speaker for anyone wanting to play American Rock, Country or Blues.

i dont really have a clue what some of these words mean, would help alot of someone did, as I'm going to pick one of these for my 18th birthday present!

It's good that you focused on RMS. Always focus on RMS, it's what you can expect from a system on an average basis. So that's good. All home stereos have bass boosts anymore, usually it just means a boost around 400 hz or so. Some are better, some are worse, no big deal. The number of speakers, and how the watts are distributed between them, probably makes the most difference. In general, more speakers are better, as it gives you the ability to push more air, which means (in general!) better imaging, and better perception of volume. It's just like with guitar - 100 watts into 2 12" speakers will sound louder than 100 watts into 1 12" speaker. Same watts, but twice as much "speaker space" to spit it out. Anyways...
So the first one has two speakers, right? The 3-way means that it has three speakers in each one, one for highs (tweeter) one for mids (woofer) one for lows (subwoofer). A 3-way will not have the same bass response as a dedicated 2/way with subwoofer or component (each separate) system, if you're talking similar watts at least.
The "hybrid dual woofer" probably means that it's a 2-way (tweeter plus woofer or woofer + woofer) plus a dedicated sub. Sometimes also called dual cone.
In general, the first one seems like it would be louder. I'm betting that it has less overall bass, since it doesn't have a dedicated sub, but it's going to be louder since it has more watts to play with, and it's almost certainly going to focus them in the midrange (where we perceive loudness, although that's simplifying things a bit).
If they're the same brand, or close in price, I'm also willing to bet that the second one has better sound quality, but if there's a large price difference, then no, the first one would be the better one. We tend to perceive louder volumes as better.
Without hearing them or knowing more, that's the best I can do for you. Ideally, testing each one with your favorite CD would be the best bet... even more ideally, you would want one that isn't mega super overmastered (ie, anything you would see on MTV), because those kinds of bands have CDs that sound loud even when they're on quiet... to get a true indication of what "loud" means, you want to listen to something that isn't overmastered like that... anything from before 5 years ago would be a good place to start. Hip hop, rock, I dunno, whatever turns your crank from more than 5 years ago.

i would definitely try a Legacy LA4299.2 4200W bridgeable amplifier and heres the link for amazon.com to read more:
a friend of mine had this amp hooked up to 4 12'' subs in a ported box in the back of a 1992 Chevy s10 blazer 4 door, it sounded pretty amazing, i was shocked because the amp is only $165 new in the box, unopened, i would definitely recommend it over the one you have listed.because ive heard and seen what this one could do, it was running his 4 12''s at around 3,800W continous, for over an hour, and didnt even get hot.
